Workmanship. The workmanship shall be of the quality to produce finished desks acceptable in appearance, function, and serviceability and to prevent potential hazard to personnel or their clothing.
Quality assurance provisions. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements specified herein.
Sampiing for inspection shall be performed in accordance with
MIL-STD-105, unless an equal or better plan is approved by the
contracting officer of his/her representative. A lot shall
consist of units of one type, class, style, and color. The
sample shall be one each. Inspection levels and AQL’s shall be
as follows:
For fit, finish, and all other workmanship - Level II, AQL 6.5
defects per hundred units.
For packaging, packing, and marking - Level S-2, AQL 4.0 Percent
defective.
Any failure to meet the dimensions, color, identification label
or performance requirements shall cause for rejection of the lot.
Performance.
ANSI/BIFMA. Each desk shall comply with the requirements of BIFMA Desk Products Standard X5.5-1989, with the following exceptions.
Exceptions to BIFMA American National Standard X5.5-1989:
Sections 13.2.2, 13.2.3, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, and 19 are not applicable.
Level test for top. This test unit shall be located on a flat surface. place a steel straight-edge on edge, diagonally (corner to corner) across the top. The length of the straight-edge shall be greater than the diagonal length of the top. There shall be no gap between the straight-edge and top greater than 3 mm at any point along the diagonal length of the top.
