Locks. The locks shall be of the disk or pin tumbler type, having not less than four disks or pin tumblers, and shall be operated by a grooved key. The locks shall have not less than 125 key changes. No one key shall open more than one lock on one unit, up to a minimum of 125 units, consecutively produced. Duplicate keys shall be furnished for each lock.
Legs. Legs shall be attached to the under side of the desk pedestal or end panel. The legs shall be equipped with adjustable glides. Alternatively, end panels, full panel to the floor with glides, may be substituted for legs.
Shelf, dictation. A sliding dictation shelf with a minimum extension of 380 mm shall be provided in each desk pedestal. Alternatively, a sliding reference shelf shall be provided in the top storage drawer of each pedestal.
Attachment bracket. Each Type I, Class 3 desk shall be furnished with a bracket complying with Figure 1.
Finish. The finish shall be baked enamel. The color shall match Fed. Std. No. 595 - Gray (26134). Alternatively, the manufacturer may provide his equivalent commercial, gray, baked enamel finish, subject to contracting officer approval.
Identification label. The label shall have the contractors name or trademark, contract number, National Stock Number (if specified) , and month, and year of manufacture legibly marked in dark ink. The label shall be located on the inside of the knee space, near the top and back of the pedestal. The label shall not be removable by hand without defacement after being affixed for four hours.
