Adjustment operation test. Apply a 300 lb load, approximately 12” in diameter, to the center of the adjustable top task table. The height adjusting mechanism shall operate through its entire range without binding. Repeat the test with the load approximately 3” from the left front corner edges and then 3” from the right front corner edges.
Keyboard shelf test. Apply a 50 lb. load to the center of the keyboard shelf for a period of 5 minutes. Any loosening of attachments, permanent deflection or damage to the operation to the shelf shall be cause for rejection.
ANSI/BIFMA. American National Standard for Desk Products X5.5-1983. Perform following tests: 4, 5, 10, 11, 12, and 14.
Regulatory requirement. In accordance with the section 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulations, the Government’s policy is to acquire items composed of the highest percentage of recovered materials practicable, consistent with maintaining a satisfactory level of competition without adversely affecting performance requirements or exposing suppliers’ employees to undue hazards from the recovered materials.
Packaging, packing, and marking. Packaging, packing and marking shall be as specified in the contract or order.
Plastic laminate sample. A sample panel of the decorative plastic laminate is obtainable from the Engineering Division, Furniture Commodity Center, Federal Supply Services, General Services Administration, Washington, DC 20406.
Color sample. A sample panel of the enamel finish is obtainable from the Business Service Center, Federal Supply and Services, General Services Administration, Washington, DC 20405 or the Business Center in the nearest General Services Administration Regional Office.
ANSI/BIFMA. Standards are available from the American National Standards Institute Inc., 1430 Broadway, New York, NY 10018.
Note. The Commercial Certification Clause is not required when this Commercial Item Description is used for procurement.
