COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
TABLES, OFFICE (CONTEMPORARY STYLE)
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description as a replacement for Federal Specification AA-T-001794.
1. SCOPE. The office tables shall be contemporary style designed for heavy duty office use.
2. CLASSIFICATION. The office tables shall be of the following types and sizes.
2.1 Types and sizes.
Types.
Type I - With full apron and no drawer
Type II - With full apron and center drawer
Type III - With full apron, center drawer, knee and end panels
Type IV - Round, leg type without apron or drawer
Sizes.
1 - 1826 mm L by 911 mm W by 730 mm H, minimum.
2 - 1521 mm L by 759 mm W by 730 mm H, minimum.
3 - 1521 mm L by 606 mm W by 730 mm H, minimum.
4 - 911 mm L by 606 mm W by 730 mm H, minimum.
5 - 2130 mm L by 911 mm W by 730 mm H, minimum.
6 - 1368 mm in diameter by 730 mm H, minimum.
2.2 Colors. In accordance with Fed. Std. No. 595
B - Black
P - Parchment
3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS.
3.1 Laminated tops. The tops shall be self-edged, covered with HP laminated plastic with a backing sheet on the bottom (backing sheet is not required with steel cores). Laminate shall be walnut grain per GSA Standard Sample No. FSS-L-01002. Alternatively, the manufacturer may provide his equivalent commercial walnut grain HP. plastic laminate subject to the contracting officer’s approval. Overall thickness of the top shall be 25.4 mm minimum. Maximum overhang on the type I, size 1 table shall be 152 mm on the short sides and 76 mm on the long sides.
3.2 Maximum overhang on the type I, size 5 table shall be 311 mm on the short sides and 83 mm on the long sides. Maximum overhang on all other tables (except type IV) shall be 50.4 mm on the short sides and 25.4 mm on the long sides.
