Base. The base shall have 4 corrosion resistant adjustable glides. Conventional table legs not acceptable. Wire management which controls wires between top surface and the floor shall be provided. The metal finish shall be semi-gloss baked enamel with colors Fed. Std. No. 595 black (27040) or parchment within the range delimited by (26586) and (26405). Alternatively, the manufacturer may provide his commercial black enamel finish subject to the contracting officer approval.

Tilting machine surface. In addition to the height adjustment, when specified the rear surface (machine) shall tilt 3 degrees forward and 12 degrees backward (15 degrees overall) minimum.

Side extensions. The left and right extensions for the dual-surface stand shall be constructed and laminated the same as the top and shall be 13”W by 30”D, minimum. They shall have a minimum range of adjustability in increments of 1” maximum from 24” high to 28” high. Infinite adjustability is acceptable.

Identification label. The label shall have the contractor’s name or trademark, contract or order number, National Stock Number (if specified) and month and year of manufacture legibly marked in permanent dark ink. The labels shall be affixed under the top of the stand and on the bottom of all other items and shall not be removable by hand without defacement after being affixed for 4 hours.

Workmanship. The workmanship shall be of the quality to produce finished items acceptable in appearance, function and serviceability and to prevent potential hazard to personnel or their clothing.

Performance. Each unit shall comply with the following requirements. Failure of any unit to comply with these requirements shall be cause for rejection.

ANSI/BIFMA. American National Standards Institute for Desk Products X.5.5-1983. Perform following tests: 4, 5, 10, 11, 12, and 14.
