dividers shall be provided with each shelf. The shelf shall adjustment of dividers, with continuous adjustment spacing of 76.2 mm maximum on center.

Doors. The doors shall be overhead retractable type, equipped with a hand grip. There shall be no metal to metal contact between doors and door guides. Doors shall retract flush or recessed with the face of the cabinets.

Finish. The finish shall be semi-gloss baked enamel. Color shall match Federal Standard No. 595, black (27040), gray (26134), and parchment (within the range delimited by 26586 and 26405). Alternatively, the manufacturer may provide his commercial black or gray baked enamel finish subject to contracting officer approval.

Identification label. The label shall have the contractor’s name or trade mark, contract number, National Stock Number (if specified), and month and year of manufacture legibly marked with permanent dark ink.  The label shall be affixed to the back of the cabinet and shall not be removable by hand without defacement after being affixed for 4 hours.

Workmanship. The workmanship shall be of the quality to produce finished filing cabinets acceptable in appearance, function and serviceability and prevent potential hazard to personnel or their clothing.

Quality Assurance Provisions. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements specified herein. Sampling for inspection shall be performed in accordance with MIL-STD-105, unless an equal or better plan is approved by the contracting officer or his/her representative. A lot shall consist of units of one type, size, style and color. The sample shall be one each. Inspection levels and AQL’s shall be as follows:

For fit, finish and all other workmanship- Level II, AQL 6.5 defects per hundred units.

For packaging, packing, and marking- Level S-2, AQL 4.0 percent defective.
